Here are some thoughts about how to make your work a more enjoyable experience. 1. First of all, it’s important to understand that Work is mental or physical EFFORT done in order to achieve a purpose or result. In other words, work is what you do, not who you are. For example, if you say you are a carpenter, Your work is the EFFORT you put forth to get the job done. You may not like being a carpenter, but you can feel good about the EFFORT (your work) you put into doing the job. Always focus on your effort. 2. Your ideal work is that which allows you to express your personal interests and abilities in what you do. When your work is very different from your personal interests and seems like it’s just a job that has to be done, focus on what it empowers you to do. Focus on the fact that it gives you income and purchase power. It gives you the freedom to enjoy life in a way that you would not be able to do without the job. Focus on the benefits. 3. If you have coworkers, do all you can to nurture good relationships with them. Develop friendships. In many cases, the best part of your job is the people you work with. It makes work more enjoyable when you look forward to being with people you like. Focus on co-worker friendships. 4. It helps to have hobbies and interests you really enjoy doing outside your job setting. Having these interests allows you to express yourself and find fulfillment in ways you can’t achieve on the job. This helps to give your life an important sense of balance and increases your feelings of happiness. Focus on balance.
Very good advice! ðð
