One day when I was young
and being a bit prideful,
my father, a wise man,
said to me,
”Get a bucket of water
and fill it with water.”
I did as he said.
”Now, I want you to try something,”
he said.
”Put your arm in the bucket of water,
then pull your arm out.
If there’s a hole in the water,
where your arm was,
that means you’re indispensable.
If there is no hole,
that means you’re dispensable.
I did as he said, and when I
pulled my arm out of the water
there was no hole.
My wise father said,
“No matter how important
you think you are,
the world can function without you.
Always be humble, but remember,
Humility is not thinking less of yourself,
but thinking of yourself less.”
It was a lesson well learned.

This is a brilliant lesson Chuck. Though I “know” the lesson, your story is a great way to illustrate it and memorable.
