knocks your socks off
and leaves you
awed and amazed
yet frightened?
How do you handle news
that seems so preposterous,
so improbable,
that it rattles your
entire belief system?
How do you handle news
that you know
will create conflict
and cause others to
doubt you, question you,
perhaps even despise you?
Many years ago
a young couple
had to deal with such news.
Without question they were rattled.
But they worked through major challenges
and a world of unknowns,
and ultimately handled the news well.
They set an example
for the whole world to follow.
Admittedly, however,
much of the world is struggling
with following the example.
The news is so
rattling.

When I was a wee babe, I suspect my beloved Mother delivered unto me a rattle, and it calmed me. This rattle you speak of here does the same. Held not only in my hand, but in my heart, and I feel love delivered unto me again. It calms me!
