Modern society has done us a disservice
by conditioning us to believe
that multi-tasking is the key to
being productive and successful.
In his wisdom, Plato once said,
”Each man is capable of doing
one thing well.
If he attempts several,
he will fail to achieve
distinction in any.”
It’s of great value to the self-esteem
to pick out one things you can do
and do it well.
It gives a sense of satisfaction
and a feeling of success
to know that you can do
one thing really well.
Down through history
the people who are remembered
are the ones who
did one thing really well.
You may be good
at busily doing many things,
and that’s fine,
but people will remember you best
for the one thing
you did really well.
