I have no power in this world
to change that which needs changed.
I have no authority
to right the world’s wrongs.
I cannot correct all that’s unjust.
But I have a God-given voice,
and may I have the courage to use it
and not stand in silence
when I see
the downtrodden abused,
the less fortunate mistreated,
the hungry neglected,
the homeless forgotten,
the disabled demeaned.
May I have the strength of character
to stand up
and speak out
against such injustice.
