RAKE:

A garden tool once used

for drawing together cut grass

or fallen leaves or smoothing soil.

Now considered an antique

and no longer of practical value.

LEAF BLOWER:

A garden tool

that propels cut grass, leaves

or other debris.

It has replaced the rake

and has high practical value.

ADULT HUMAN BEING

A man or woman

of the Homo sapiens species

whose speech

and superior mental developent

and expression of love and other emotions

have been diminished

by technology and social media.

WONDER:

Desire or be curious to know something.

I wonder……

Is it true?

Am I really verbally communicating less,

expressing my feelings less,

using my brain less?

I wonder…..

will I so soon be considered

an antique……like the rake

and be replaced

by an updated smart phone

or some other new technology

and no longer have value?

I wonder……

  1. But then there are those who relish the feel of the rake, and use it frequently. We like the effort and the sweat that comes from using it. No, we will not be replaced. Someone will always cherish what it is we are.

      1. Oh I loved the questions (hope I didn’t imply otherwise). They made me think and consider. I appreciate reading something that makes me pause and wonder….. I am not a supporter of change for change or “progress” is always better.
