APPLYING FOOTBALL’S TARGETING RULE TO CONVERSATIONS

College football

has this rule called

TARGETING.

If you tackle a player

and your helmet comes in contact

with the other player’s helmet

causing him potential harm

you are called for

TARGETING.

The referee throws the yellow flag

and you have to leave the game.

Hmmmmm…..

Wouldn’t it be interesting

if we passed a law

and it said,

”If you use hurtful words

directed at another person

causing them emotional pain,

a yellow flag will be thrown

and you will be called for

TARGETING

and you will have to leave

the conversation.”

Hmmmmm…..

Come to think of it,

we already have a law.

It’s called

love your neighbor

as yourself.”

All we need is the yellow flag.
