WHAT ROSEMARY GAVE TO ME TO BRIGHTEN MY DAY

SOME DAYS BRING HEAVINESS. And it’s easy to let my attitude whirl out of whack and turn negative. But……oh….. What an early morning walk in the garden will do to brighten my day. Rosemary is there to greet me. I touch her gently and she responds with a gift of sweet aroma so fresh and fragrant that I can’t help but be grateful for such a blessing… for such a friend in the garden. Rosemary reminds me of how blessed I am…. and my attitude changes. I breathe in the frangrance, pause and reflect, and say to myself… May I … Continue reading WHAT ROSEMARY GAVE TO ME TO BRIGHTEN MY DAY

THERE’S POWER IN THE PAUSE

HURRICANE. DEVASTATION EVERYTHING GONE. What do we do when tough times hit? Nature and man can take everything away from us…. Everything…….EXCEPT…… OUR FREEDOM TO CHOOSE HOW WE WILL RESPOND. How we CHOOSE to respond to an event or circumstance in our lives CANNOT BE TAKEN AWAY FROM US unless we ALLOW it. Between the EVENT and our RESPONSE IS A PAUSE It is in THAT PAUSE that we have the POWER TO CHOOSE OUR RESPONSE. SEARCH FOR PEARLS AFTER THE STORM

The mighty hurricane came — powerful, forceful, destructive. Yet in their despair people found things to be thankful for. Beneath the ravagaing storm in the depths of the sea lie precious  pearls. No matter how fierce the storm, the pearls are always there. The mighty storms in life are often similar — powerful, forceful, destructive. It helps to be prepared for them. And to remember that in the depths of every storm raged problem lie precious pearls. When the storms in life come, search for the pearls. They’re always there. THE LANGUGE OF TENNIS IS THE LANGUAGE OF LIFE

I’ve come to realize that the language of TENNIS— Break, Serve, Advantage, Fault, Love— is the Language of Life. BREAK Be willling to bend as far as you need to in life, but don’t allow ourself to BREAK. Refusing to give up, refusing to BREAK, is the sign of strong character. SERVE SERVE others with a glad heart. Never say you’re too busy to SERVE. Relatioships grow and strengthen when your goal is to SERVE rather than rule. Being blessed with another day to live is being blessed with another opportunity to SERVE. ADVANTAGE ADVANTAGES and obstacles are part of … Continue reading THE LANGUGE OF TENNIS IS THE LANGUAGE OF LIFE

LIFE LESSONS FROM ITTY BITTY, THE SPIDER

Itty Bitty Spider Climbed up the water spout. (If life gives you a mountain….climb it.) Down came the rain And washed the spider out. (Sometimes problems can knock us down.) Out came the sun And dried up all the rain. (Have faith…be patient…things will get better.) So Itty Bitty Spider Climbed up the spout again. (Never give up…persevere…you can do it.) WASTED TIME OR LEISURE TIME – YOU DECIDE

I learned something new yesterday that shocked me. I read some research that said Americans tend to WASTE TIME in the SAME WAY…..EVERY DAY! The article explained that there’s a DIFFERENCE between LEISURE TIME and WASTED TIME. LEISURE TIME is purposeful relaxation and enjoyment. It’s good for you. WASTED TIME is….. well, just a waste of time. Hmmmm…… The article further said that TIME WASTED IS LIFE WASTED. We’re wasting hunks of our life every single day. WOW! We’re not only wasting time every day, we’re doing it in the SAME WAY. OVER and OVER. It’s like a bad habit….an addiction. … Continue reading WASTED TIME OR LEISURE TIME – YOU DECIDE
