GOOD THINGS HAPPEN WHEN LEAST EXPECTED — TIMING IS EVERYTHING

The Mojave Desert gets less than
six inches of rain a year, making it
the driest desert in North America.
It has the usual sand dunes,
canyons, mesas, and mountains.
Every few years heavy rains
result in such a wealth of blossoms
that almost every foot of sand
is covered with an array of flowers.
This phenomenon doesn’t happen often.
The dry earth needs to be soaked
by storms and warmed by the sun
at just the right time
before vibrant colored flowers
emerge from nowhere and cover the desert.
What a beautiful example
this is of life itself.
We all have those moments when
we experience our Mojave Desert.
We feel the loneliness of
the hot dry desert.
We thirst for relief
from the nagging pain
that won’t go away.
We cannot quench our grief.
We want to give up, give in,
and fall to the hot burning sand
and let depression consume us.
But then the rains come
when least expected.
Raindrops of blessings
fall all around us.
Out of nowhere flowers bloom.
They cheer us.....comfort us.
We feel healing.
We don’t fully understand
why it works this way.
It’s in the timing.
Timing is everything.
