LEAVE THEM SOME GOOD MEMORIES

I’ve heard people say,

”At least she lived a full life.”

or

”He’s fortunate.  He had a full life.”

Hmmm….it makes me wonder….

What in the world is a FULL LIFE?

Some say it’s achieving everything you dreamed of, or….

helping others achieve what they dreamed of, or…

having no regrets on your deathbed, or…

leaving the world a little better than you found it.

A global survey by Abbott asked 2 million people

around the world what ONE THING

made them feel MOST FULFILLED IN LIFE.

Their answers, in order of preference, were…

FAMILY, SUCCESS, and HEALTH.

Interestingly, SPIRITUALITY

was not one of the top preferences.

I wonder why.

(Something to ponder.)

AGE and GENDER were not viewed

as barriers to living a full life.

The top 3 most fulfilled countries

were China, Costa Rica, and Columbia.

The United States ranked 65th.

(Something else to ponder.)

I wonder what people will say about me?

Will they say I lived a FULL LIFE or not?

Well, here are my thoughts on that.

People’s opinions on that particularly question

aren’t what’s important to me.

What really matters is this question:

”DID I LEAVE THEM SOME GOOD MEMORIES?”

After all…..

One of the greatest gifts you can give someone

is a handful of good memories.

Life brings tears, smiles, and memories.

The tears dry, the smiles fade,

but the memories last forever.

You simply don’t ever forget someone

who gave you so many good things to remember.

As long as you have a memory,

you have the person with you.

Photos are nice but memories are better

because memories recall

conversations, laughter, hugs, and

those priceless special moments of being together.

So, I’m not concerned about a FULL LIFE.

I just hope I can LEAVE SOME GOOD MEMORIES.

  1. Well said Chuck, our memories are collected and stored forever. What would we do without them. As I am getting older the new ones are accumulting and I must say they are creating an entirely new category in my mind. Lots of love out there!

  2. I sooo agree with you Chuck. Good memories are the most important thing to leave behind. And fortunately we still have some time to make more.
